The Allan Street Bridge is now open – the last piece of the award-winning Metro Village 3175 project.

Mayor of the City of Greater Dandenong, Jim Memeti, today officially opened the new Allan Street Bridge in Dandenong.

The Allan Street Bridge will be a key link between central Dandenong and the suburbs to the south, improving access for locals and businesses.

The new bridge will also reduce traffic congestion in the area, giving locals an extra creek crossing to Cheltenham Road.

Construction of the new bridge began in September last year and took eight months to complete.

The works were delivered by Development Victoria, who worked closely with the City of Greater Dandenong and Melbourne Water on the bridge’s design.

The bridge will now be owned and maintained by the City of Greater Dandenong.
