The Geelong community will have the opportunity to learn more about the Armstrong Creek Sports Centre which is being delivered as part of the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program.

Through a series of information sessions, the community will be able to hear more about plans for the multi-sport facility and ask the project team questions about plans for delivering the sports centre.

Development Victoria’s Group Head Civic Infrastructure, Hannah Clement said that the sessions will be a great chance for locals to find out more about the exciting new sports centre, and the benefits it will bring to the local community.

We are looking forward to delivering this new sporting facility which will provide more opportunities for the community to get active, as Armstrong Creek and the Greater Geelong region continue to grow.

The sessions will also give community members another chance to see the concept designs for the sports centre which will include four indoor multi-sport courts and a brand-new plaza, and will be discussed in further detail during these sessions.

An Expression of Interest process for a Head Contractor to deliver the sports centre has recently closed, with shortlisted bidders progressing to a Request for Proposal stage in late October.

The upcoming community information sessions include an online webinar and two face-to-face drop-in sessions where community members can chat with the project team and ask any questions they may have about the designs and delivery approach.

  • Drop-in Session One - Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library: Saturday 26 October, 11am – 12:30pm
  • Drop-in Session Two - Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Library: Tuesday 29 October, 5:30pm - 7pm
  • Online Webinar: Wednesday 30 October, 6pm – 6:30pm
