A joint venture comprising Kane Constructions and Nicholson Construction (Kane Nicholson JV) has been appointed as the head contractor to lead the exciting transformation of the Ballarat Major Events Precinct.

With a proven track record in delivering standout regional projects, such as the award-winning Ballarat GovHub and the Bendigo Law Courts Development, they’re ready to bring their expertise back to Ballarat for this exciting transformation.

This exciting redevelopment will add 5,000 permanent seats to Mars Stadium, boosting seating capacity to 10,000 and enhancing spectator experience with enhanced amenities. The project also includes a new athletics track and pavilion with lighting on the former Ballarat Showgrounds site, along with additional upgrades such as  landscaping, and accessibility improvements to make the venue more inclusive for everyone.

These upgrades aren’t just about improving facilities, they’ll also support local jobs, attract more visitors, and boost businesses across Ballarat for years to come.

We are excited to appoint the joint venture between Kane Constructions and Nicholson Construction to deliver this project, which will see both parties bringing significant experience to the table. These upgrades will create a vibrant, accessible space that will benefit the community.
