Bendigo is set for a big boost, with construction now underway on major upgrades at both Bendigo Stadium and Bendigo Showgrounds.

At Bendigo Stadium, works will deliver a new 2-court annex, refurbishment of two existing courts, lighting to outdoor netball courts, as well as utility upgrades, backup generator, solar panels, car parking and accessibility improvements.

Over at the Bendigo Showgrounds, the redevelopment will deliver a brand-new multipurpose pavilion with an event space, upgrades to the grass arena and lighting, and upgrades to the entrances and fencing.

Together, these projects will create greater opportunities for the community to come together, support local jobs, and boost the regional economy.

Hannah Clement, Executive General Manager Civic Infrastructure at Development Victoria, said the start of works is an exciting milestone for the Bendigo community.

These upgrades will ensure both Bendigo Stadium and Bendigo Showgrounds continue to thrive as vibrant community and sporting hubs. By delivering modern, inclusive and accessible facilities, we’re supporting local jobs now while setting Bendigo up for bigger and better events in the future.

The projects are expected to be completed in late 2026.

These projects are being delivered by Development Victoria in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program, and have involved close collaboration with the City of Greater Bendigo, Bendigo Stadium Limited and the Bendigo Agricultural Show Society. This will ensure the Bendigo Stadium and Bendigo Showgrounds upgrades cater to the local community and deliver positive outcomes for the region.
