Bendigo Stadium receives new lighting

Upgraded lighting is now complete across the outdoor netball courts at Bendigo Stadium, improving playing conditions and extending hours of use for the local community.

Delivered by Development Victoria in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria, the works form part of the Regional Sports Infrastructure Program.

Bendigo Stadium is home to the Bendigo Basketball Association and the Bendigo Volleyball Association. The upgraded lighting across 12 outdoor netball courts meets community competition standards and will support the upcoming season for the Central Victorian Netball Association, which includes 22 clubs from across the Greater Bendigo region.

The lighting works are part of a broader redevelopment at Bendigo Stadium. Other upgrades include two new courts, refurbishment of courts 9 and 10, a new backup generator, installation of solar panels, and car parking and accessibility improvements.

Development Victoria’s Executive General Manager Civic Infrastructure, Hannah Clement, said the lighting upgrade strengthens the stadium’s role as a key regional sporting hub.

“These upgrades mean players can train and compete in safer, higher quality conditions, while creating more opportunities for participation throughout the year,” said Hannah.

Works at the Stadium are expected to be completed in late 2026.

This project is being delivered by Development Victoria in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program and have involved close collaboration with the City of Greater Bendigo and Bendigo Stadium Limited.

This will ensure the Bendigo Stadium upgrades cater to the local community and deliver positive outcomes for the region.
