Marcus, young male in a Development Victoria jacket and hard hat
This Youth Week, we're celebrating by recognising the talents and contributions of some of our great young team members.

Young people bring a different perspective and voice to our decision-making, and we’re proud to support a culture where our people thrive because of the diversity they bring.

Marcus McMahon joined Development Victoria as part of our Intern Program in February 2019 and has since then gone on to become our Development Manager – Acquisitions.

‘During my time at Development Victoria, I’ve been exposed to various elements of the acquisition process and have been lucky to work on a variety of projects including Highett Gasworks, Ballarat GovHub, Fitzroy Gasworks, and GMH' Marcus said.

‘I’m grateful to work with such a high calibre of people within my team, as I have been able to learn from their strengths and attempt to apply them to myself.’

Another of our fantastic young team members is Lexie Forbes, Project Manager – Strategy. Lexie's role has her working on businesses cases on behalf of government clients, as well as progressing strategic and corporate policy objectives such as affordable housing and sustainability.

‘It's very exciting and rewarding work. Outside of my core role, I am also part of Development Victoria’s Emerging Leaders committee as well as our Reconciliation Action Plan working group. Development Victoria provides ample opportunities to pursue initiatives that you are passionate about, and collaborate with colleagues outside of your core team, which I've thoroughly enjoyed' Lexie said.

Lexie also joined Development Victoria as part of our intern program in 2018.

‘As part of the intern program, I was able to work across a few different teams which has allowed me to establish relationships across the organisation. This has been invaluable in my work to date.’

Our Intern Program is offered to students (of all ages) with an interest in property development, project management or urban renewal. Those in the program are given the opportunity to gain exposure to a diverse range of projects. Working alongside an experienced team of industry professionals, they experience the full project lifecycle. We will be recruiting for our 2021 Intern Program in the coming months.
