The late John Weston served the Victorian public for more than 50 years.

John left an outstanding legacy having worked on many significant major projects – including the Melbourne Park redevelopment, the State Library refurbishment, Melbourne Museum and the National Gallery of Victoria.

John, who passed away in 2014, earnt a reputation for his professionalism, integrity and achievement across government and the construction industry.

Development Victoria is proud to continue to honour John through our annual award named after him.

We are delighted to announce the 2022 winner is Commercial Manager Clifford Chaperon.

This peer nominated award that encourages recognition of our values of collaboration, innovation and delivery, and celebrates outstanding contributions to our unique and fulfilling culture.

Clifford has worked with Development Victoria for almost a decade as a Commercial Manager and contributed to various projects such as Riverwalk, Taylors Quarter and Coomoora (Springvale South).

Development Victoria’s Chief Executive Officer Angela Skandarajah said Clifford was “the “ultimate team member” who is always sharing his rich knowledge in commercial support.

His clear and concise reporting allows our project teams to consistently make the right decisions.

“Clifford is renowned for the support he provides his colleagues to deliver the best outcomes for the project team, the project overall and Development Victoria,” Angela said.
