Development Victoria is delivering housing in Melbourne’s north, with construction of 89 new homes at the Habitas Aurora development in Wollert underway.

Group Head Housing Penny Forrest says this next phase of homes being built marks an important milestone for the growing Wollert community.

“The Aurora housing project is successfully boosting the supply and affordability of homes in Melbourne’s north close to shops, schools and transport,” said Penny.

This master planned residential estate has provided homes to over 7,000 people since it began construction in 2005 and we expect it deliver many more as it continues to progress.

The new homes at Habitas Aurora which are being built by SOHO Living and Metricon, incorporate a range of sustainability initiatives such as recycled water, LED lighting and passive solar design to achieve a minimum 6-star energy rating.

All the homes are well-located, within walking distance to the Aurora Town Centre, local schools, open space areas and public transport - making every house a convenient place to call home.

Development Victoria is currently procuring a construction partner to deliver Koukoura Drive, which will improve access for residents and the future Business Park to the Hume Highway.

Construction of the key access road is set to commence later in 2024 and with the aim to be completed by late 2025.
