Two story townhouses lines up with gumtrees and grass surrounding themMore families are now calling Springvale South home, with the completion of a new residential community at Coomoora delivering a range of high-quality housing options close to jobs, transport and essential services.

The final settlement of 47 townhouses and 16 land-only lots marks a major milestone for the Development Victoria-led project, which is helping to address housing demand in Melbourne’s south east.

Located along Coomoora Road, the townhouses – delivered in partnership with Creation Projects – include a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes, supporting a diverse community of homebuyers.

Four of these homes were purchased by Aboriginal Housing Victoria to provide much-needed social housing for First Peoples as part of the Big Housing Build, helping deliver culturally appropriate homes that are designed and managed to meet community needs.

Acting Group Head, Housing at Development Victoria, Niall Cunningham, said Coomoora demonstrates how underutilised government land can be transformed into vibrant new communities.

By providing a mix of housing options and protecting green space, we’re helping to create well-connected neighbourhoods that meet the needs of Victorians now and into the future.

With around 20 per cent of the site dedicated to open space, Coomoora offers residents access to landscaped parklands, mature trees and recreational areas, contributing to a strong sense of community and connection.

Delivered on surplus government land, Coomoora forms part of the Victorian Government’s broader commitment to boosting housing supply and affordability in the Greater Dandenong region.
