The design phase for Bendigo Showgrounds and Bendigo Stadium has commenced with City Collective appointed as the Principal Design Consultant for both of these projects.

City Collective demonstrated a strong commitment to ensuring these projects are grounded in the local community. Bendigo-based RMG Civil & Structural Engineers and Trident Building Surveyors have already been engaged by City Collective as local sub-consultants as part of the team. City Collective has also committed to employing local graduates to work on the project.

As the design phase progresses, City Collective will be partnering with Bendigo-based companies and using locally sourced products and materials.

Group Head Civic Infrastructure at Development Victoria, Hannah Clement, said the start of the design phase is an exciting step in delivering the upgraded sporting and events venues for Bendigo.

Upgrading these two venues will support the continued growth of the Bendigo region, boosting local jobs and businesses during the projects’ delivery.

Delivered as part of the Victorian Government’s Bendigo Sports Package, the upgrades will deliver benefits for the region, including increased sports participation and will bring more events to regional Victoria.

Bendigo Showgrounds will receive a new multipurpose pavilion, alongside a redeveloped arena and upgrades to entrances and fencing, enhancing the Showgrounds' reputation as a prime venue for community, cultural, and agricultural events.

Bendigo Stadium is also set for a major transformation, with a new two-court annex, refurbishment of two existing courts, utility upgrades, solar panels and backup generator, car park and accessibility improvements. There will also be new lighting to the outdoor netball courts, ensuring the Stadium remains Bendigo’s premier elite indoor sports and local competition venue.
