Development Victoria construction update

The health and safety of the Victorian community and our people remains Development Victoria’s top priority.

A temporary construction industry shut down is needed to keep our workers, the construction industry and the broader Victorian community COVIDSafe. In line with this direction, our construction worksites in metropolitan Melbourne, City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire and Mitchell Shire are temporarily closed.

Development Victoria is working closely with our project partners to comply with construction-related public health orders for when our works recommence, to ensure all COVIDSafe requirements and directions are met by Tuesday 5 October.

Limited exemptions will enable workers to attend sites to respond to an emergency or perform urgent and essential work to ensure safety of the site.

Development Victoria urges the construction workforce to use this time to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
