An award-winning First Nations owned and operated commercial construction company has been appointed to develop the final parcel of land at the Junction Place precinct in Wodonga.

TVN On-Country plans to build and operate a unique commercial and cultural hub for the 100,000 strong border community, creating new jobs through both the creation and operation of the development.

Executive General Manager Precincts, Niall Cunningham, said this is an important milestone for the precinct's development.

The appointment of TVN On-Country will be a valuable addition to Junction Place, helping to shape a vibrant and diverse precinct that benefits the entire community and beyond.

Development Victoria will support TVN On-Country as they work with Council and the community to ensure the development complements the precinct and puts First Nations progress at its core. Works will begin following community consultation and development approvals.

Last year, Development Victoria appointed Birchmore Group to develop sites 1, 3, 4 and 5 at Junction Place, which will create around 200 homes, short-stay accommodation, and mixed-use spaces, supporting over 1,000 local jobs and boosting Wodonga’s economy.

More than $30 million has already been invested in revitalising the precinct, with Birchmore set to continue detailed design and community consultation over the coming months.
