Gippsland closer to sport and entertainment upgrades

We're delivering some fantastic upgrades to the Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park and Morwell Gun Club, as we continue working to make regional Victoria an even better place to live, work, stay and play.

The transformation of the Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park is in full swing, with Brand Architects recently appointed as principal design consultant. The park will feature a new pavilion with change rooms and amenities, and a new change pod. Upgraded pitches with new lighting, and a new car park will also be delivered. These improvements will create a premier hub for sports and entertainment in the region.

At the Morwell Gun Club, plans are moving forward for a new shotgun trap shooting range and security fencing, providing a wider range of disciplines for local shooting enthusiasts, with Brand Architects also appointed deliver these upgrades.

Development Victoria’s Group Head Civic Infrastructure, Hannah Clement said that the appointment of the design consultants for these upgrades is a significant milestone for the projects.

We are excited to be delivering these two projects in the Gippsland region as part of the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program. This program will bring 16 new and upgraded sports infrastructure projects to regional Victoria in the coming years.

With the design work for the projects underway in the Gippsland region, head contractors are able to submit Expressions of Interest until 20 November 2024,  to help bring these exciting projects to life. These developments will boost sports participation across Gippsland and draw more elite sporting events to regional Victoria, benefiting the community and supporting local businesses.
