Preparations to deliver upgrades to Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park are continuing to gain momentum, with a shortlist of head contractors now confirmed following a competitive Expression of Interest (EOI) process.
The strong response from the market highlights the excitement and significance of this project, which will transform the park into a premier hub for sport and entertainment in Gippsland.
The shortlisted contractors, ADCO Constructions, Building Engineering, McCorkell Constructions and SJ Higgins bring extensive expertise in delivering infrastructure projects, including sporting facilities and projects across regional Victoria.
Benjamin Delaney, Acting Group Head Civic Infrastructure at Development Victoria, emphasised the importance of this milestone.
We’re thrilled with the high-quality responses received, which demonstrate the excitement surrounding this redevelopment. We look forward to appointing the head contractor in the coming months to help bring this project to fruition.
The redevelopment will include a new pavilion with change rooms, upgraded pitches with improved lighting, and additional parking facilities, ensuring the park becomes a premier venue for local and regional events.
The head contractor is expected to be appointed by mid-2025, with construction anticipated to begin shortly after.
This project is being delivered by Development Victoria in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria, and has involved close collaboration with the Latrobe City Council to ensure the Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park upgrades cater to the local community and deliver positive outcomes for the region.
