Melbourne-based builder JG King has been appointed as the first builder partner for Development Victoria’s Alfie residential project in Altona North.

Delivered by Development Victoria, Alfie features 127 two, three and four-bedroom homes, with a portion reserved for affordable housing.

Development Victoria’s Group Head Property Development, Neil Anderson welcomed the appointment of JG King, a company committed to innovation and sustainability.

“Not only have JG King been delivering homes for Victorians for more than 30 years, they also have a strong commitment to high quality, sustainable and innovative design which is in line with our objectives for Alfie,” Neil said.

JG King is committed to environmentally sound practices and is accredited by the Housing Industry Association (HIA) as GreenSmart Professionals.  JG King also exclusively uses BlueScope Steel, which offers buyers a 50-year structural guarantee.

“Alfie is an excellent example of the innovative housing solutions being delivered to meet the needs of Victorians and partnering with a company such as JG King will ensure this occurs,” Neil said.

“Civil construction recently began on the site, signaling the start of the project which is really exciting. We look forward to welcoming residents to this new community which is so close to everything.”

Alfie has experienced strong sales rates in the past two months which have been attributed to first home buyers and owner occupiers recognising the opportunity for growth in the current housing market.

Alfie is located on a 2.4-hectare site on Blackshaws Road in Altona North and will reflect the heritage of the area, with a key feature being a 2000 sqm central park within the development.

The park will be a focal point for new residents and will provide a protected and landscaped open space for active and relaxing recreation.

Development Victoria has collaborated with Max Architects and MDG Landscape Architects to design the diverse housing on offer.

“It has been great to see a range of architectural designs including contemporary spaces, natural light and generous-sized living spaces, integrated with quality finishes,” Neil said.

“The project is a great example of how Development Victoria can provide a variety of housing options, while still delivering high quality and contemporary designs.”
