The next phase of work has kicked off at the Fishermans Bend Innovation Precinct (FBIP), with Winslow Infrastructure appointed to deliver the main works package.

The main works at Stage 1 of FBIP (the former General Motors Holden site), will include delivery of key roads, a public park and infrastructure to create an investment ready precinct.

A crucial piece of infrastructure will be the establishment of an east-west connection by linking Salmon Street and Todd Road.

The works will provide key links and integration across the Precinct, including connecting the University of Melbourne’s new Engineering and Design campus – set to open next year - with researchers and industry partners.

In addition to the main works OneWifi has been appointed to roll out smart poles within the Precinct, capable of boosting 5G, local WIFI networks and facilitate EV charging.

The Fishermans Bend Innovation Precinct is part of the broader Fishermans Bend urban renewal project, which is set to become a key hub for thousands of works, students and residents.

Fishermans Bend is Australia’s largest urban renewal project, covering approximately 480 hectares across two municipalities – the City of Melbourne and the City of Port Phillip – and connects Melbourne's CBD to Port Phillip Bay.
