MAB and Development Victoria support Docklands Primary School library

MAB and Development Victoria have teamed up to donate $10,000 collectively ($5,000 each) to support the purchase of much needed library books for Docklands Primary School.

This donation to kick-start the school year strengthens the partnership between MAB and Development Victoria, who have been working together for more than two decades to support the revitalisation and growth of Melbourne’s premier waterfront precinct.

The Docklands Primary School is the first school to service Docklands’ residents and has seen significant growth in student numbers since opening the doors to start the school year in 2021. The school represents a pivotal step towards supporting the growth of the local Docklands community and now caters to just under 400 students on campus.

Docklands Primary School Principal Adam Bright expressed his appreciation of the generous donations from MAB and Development Victoria. “At Docklands Primary School we endeavour to instil a love of reading and this donation will allow us to put high quality literature in the hands of our students. We are very grateful to MAB and Development Victoria for the contribution, and we can’t wait to see the smiles on our students faces as the new books become available for loan,” said Mr Bright.

Development Victoria is working with its partners to support the local Docklands community. Group Head Precincts Geoff Ward said: “We’re delighted to make this donation to Docklands Primary School to support the purchase of books and materials that will benefit the education of the new students at the school,”.

“MAB and Development Victoria have worked together for a number of years to achieve our joint vision to create a vibrant community at NewQuay and our donation will ensure there’s lots of great books for their inquisitive minds to enjoy.”

Docklands Primary School is expecting ongoing growth in students with MAB nearing completion of its 15th residential tower ‘Escala’ which will become home to an additional 250 residents and over 100 office jobs. To date, MAB has invested $100 million in public realm infrastructure and delivered 14 residential buildings with over 53,000m2 of parks and open space in the precinct.
