Green and blue hockey court

Hockey fans around Geelong and the Surf Coast can now find out more about the exciting upgrades planned for their home venue at Stead Park.

The concept design phase for the new upgrades to Stead Park’s hockey facilities in Corio is complete, bringing the vision one step closer to reality.

The revamped hockey facility will feature a brand-new pavilion that will replace the old one, positioned between the two pitches for easy access.

The pavilion’s ground floor will include four change rooms, rooms for match officials, a canteen, equipment storage, team storage, and a first aid area. On the second level, a social space, meeting room, and kitchen await, with a terrace providing seating that overlooks both pitches, making it ideal for players and spectators alike.

Additional parking, including accessible parking along a new access road, will make it easier for everyone to enjoy this top-notch venue.

The western pitch will be redeveloped, with additional features including new fencing, improved drainage, an electronic scoreboard, and upgraded sports lighting, ensuring the venue is ready to host a range of events, including national-level hockey, providing great outcomes for user groups.

Hockey Victoria are delighted to see the project reach this important stage and believe the designs will provide an excellent outcome for hockey in the Geelong area.
