Development Victoria is creating more housing opportunities for families in the booming west as first residents move into its newly created neighbourhood in Sunshine North.

Acting Group Head Housing, Nemesia Kennett, said proud homeowners who are settling into the first stage of the LUMA development are enjoying their new homes as well as the recently opened park.

LUMA’s newest residents and the surrounding communities can now enjoy the new Willowbark Park, which features custom-designed shelters, a playground, BBQs and picnic areas, further adding to the livability of the area.

Located on the former City West Water office and depot, development Victoria is unlocking the underutilised land which will deliver approximately 300 townhouses when complete.

The first stage of LUMA has delivered 86 townhouses consisting of 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms to accommodate a range of households and budgets.

Melbourne based SAW Constructions is delivering the first two stages of the development, with construction on 85 homes in Stage 2 well underway.

Stage 2 homes will be 'all-electric' with sustainable features, including solar PV, double glazed or laminated windows, and heat pumps, achieving a minimum 7-star energy rating improving energy efficiency and savings for residents

Homes at LUMA also only require a 5% deposit (2.5% upfront and 2.5% after six months) with no progress payments during construction – improving affordability and access to a broad range of purchasers.
