Development Victoria is creating more housing opportunities for families in Melbourne’s south-east, with more than 100 homes in Stage 2 of Olio Officer progressing well and the first residents set to move in this month.
Located on a 6.8-hectare site in the heart of Officer, less than 500 metres from Officer Station, Olio is being delivered in two stages by local builder Sienna Homes. Stage 1 was completed in late 2024, with 93 homes now occupied.
There has been strong demand across both stages, with purchasers attracted by the convenient location, relative affordability and access to open space. The development is walking distance to the station, offering direct train services to the CBD, local shops and the future Officer Town Centre.
Development Victoria Executive General Manager, Housing, Matthew Dean said the project reflects a strong commitment to increasing housing supply and affordability.

"Olio provides a fantastic opportunity for moderate-income families and first home buyers to purchase an energy-efficient home in an emerging suburb, with convenient access to open space, schools, public transport and a wide range of future services." Mr Dean said.
Homes at Olio incorporate a range of sustainability features designed to improve energy efficiency for heating and cooling, helping residents reduce their energy bills while lowering their environmental footprint.
Residents are already enjoying the one-acre Olio Park, delivered as part of Stage 1 in 2023, which includes a playground, BBQ facilities and picnic areas. Gum Scrub Creek has also been revitalised as a natural green corridor, enhancing open space and supporting local biodiversity.
Inclusivity is a core part of the development. Development Victoria has partnered with CatholicCare and Aboriginal Housing Victoria to deliver much-needed social housing across both stages, while the Priority Access program has supported eligible moderate-income buyers to purchase homes ahead of public release.
“We are also proud to partner with reputable social housing providers to deliver quality homes for people eligible for social housing,” Mr Dean said.
All homes in Stage 2 are expected to be completed by mid-2027, with only a few remaining for sale.
