Families at a new housing estate in Melbourne’s west can now enjoy a new park featuring a playground, community BBQ, a bocce court and an orchard.

Messara Park has been delivered by Development Victoria as part of the Taylors Quarter residential estate.

Development Victoria engaged Melbourne-based landscaping company Naturform to construct the new park, with works completed in late September 2022.

The new park, located along McCubbin Drive, has been designed in consultation with the local community and Brimbank City Council, and will become a fantastic meeting point for residents and visitors to the estate.

Sustainability is a big feature of the park with five wind turbines installed that will generate electricity to assist with powering the park’s interactive lighting.

Messara Park has been designed to provide stormwater capture and re-use within this new neighbourhood through the provision of both above and below ground water storage.

The storage basin has been blended into the landscape, adding to the visual appeal of the park, while also offering a space for informal sports.

Taylors Quarter was the last major land release in Taylors Lakes and is located close to transport, schools, and other services.

The Taylors Quarter estate is also in close proximity to the Watergardens Shopping Centre, Watergardens Railway Station and Taylors Creek Reserve.
