Just three months after its sales launch, more than 50 per cent of the new homes at Development Victoria’s CIRQ development in Point Cook have sold. Nearly three quarters of the homes have been sold to local buyers.

Sales research reveals the townhouses are attracting families from Point Cook and nearby Williams Landing. CIRQ’s sales results are showing high levels of owner-occupiers, with location, home design and facilities motivating buyers.

Development Victoria’s General Manager, Development and Construction, Peter Southwell said the majority of sales have been to local buyers.

Sales have been very strong, with all the homes in our first stage release selling during the first weekend in May, Mr Southwell said.

This success has continued, with more than 50 per cent of the new homes already sold."

"These results tell us that local residents want to stay in the area and live in high-quality, architecturally designed homes that are reasonably priced and really well located next to shops, parklands and other local services."

CIRQ Point Cook features two, three and four bedroom townhouses, designed by architects Rothelowman. The development has been designed to improve access to high-quality affordable housing close to existing community services, including the town centre, the wetland and local schools.

CIRQ has also recently achieved the Silver Standard of Livable Housing Australia Guidelines certification.

The Silver Standard assesses developments on a range of performance levels and design standards, including accessibility and adaptability. A number of home designs at CIRQ meet these performance standards through its inclusion of appropriate front door width specifications, ground floor toilets, and bathroom designs that support long-term occupancy.

"Achieving Silver Standard certification for Point Cook highlights the quality and contemporary design standard of the homes on offer," Mr Southwell said.

"The certification addresses important factors such as accessibility to help residents stay in these new homes in the long-term."

The CIRQ development is the first medium-density housing project for Development Victoria, which launched in April 2017 as the Victorian Government’s new agency responsible for urban renewal, property development and civic projects.

The CIRQ sales office is located on the corner of Lawler Street and Murnong Street, Point Cook, and the display suite is open daily from 11am-5pm.
