Development Victoria, on behalf of the Victorian Government has moved to the next phase of the multi-staged tender process to select a development partner for the government-owned land in the Arden Precinct, known as Arden Central.
Following an open Expression of Interest (EOI) process, the State Government has now evaluated submissions and selected a short-list of four bidders to proceed to the Request for Proposal (RFP) stage for Arden Central.
The shortlisted bidders (in alphabetical order) are:
- Australian Unity together with Formus Property, Community Housing Limited and Lyons
- Gurner and MAB Corporation together with Women’s Housing Limited and SOM
- Hamton Group together with Woods Bagot, Populous and Nelson + Khoo
- Lendlease Development and Assemble together with Scape, Keyton, NH Architecture and Prior + Partners.
Each of the shortlisted bidders brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to delivering quality outcomes that align with the vision for Arden.
The RFP process provides short-listed bidders the opportunity to present their masterplans for Arden Central to be a community-focused and sustainable mixed-use precinct, with proposals due mid-2025.
Just two kilometres from the centre of Melbourne’s CBD, the Arden Precinct is a well-connected precinct which will house up to 20,000 people by 2051.
The development of Arden Central is expected to create thousands of jobs, deliver new homes, enhance local infrastructure, and drive urban renewal.
