The next stage of a residential development in Melbourne’s outer south-east will set new standards in townhouse construction while delivering sustainable and affordable housing opportunities.
Development Victoria’s Olio project is delivering more than 200 homes – comprising a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom townhouses – for individuals, couples and families in the popular suburb of Officer.
Sales are underway for Stage Two of the development with over 100 homes available to purchase. All homes are located within walking distance to Gum Scrub Creek, Officer Train Station, the new One Centre Square Officer and the future Olio Park.
The first stage, which comprised 93 homes, sold out in 2021 with construction of houses now underway.
A key feature of Stage Two is Development Victoria’s Priority Access program.
Development Victoria’s Group Head Property Development, Penny Forrest, said Priority Access offers eligible moderate-income earners an opportunity to buy affordable homes before they’re made available on the open market.
Priority Access highlights the commitment of Development Victoria to provide affordable and high-quality homes catering for different budgets, lifestyles and people.
“This is a great opportunity for those who are eligible through our Priority Access program a seven-day exclusive period to purchase a home before they are made available to the general public,” Ms Forrest said.
Olio will set a benchmark in sustainable living with a range of inclusions as standard, including a 7-star energy rating, double glazed windows and solar panels. This will mean these architecturally designed homes will require less energy to heat and cool, reducing residents’ carbon footprints and, importantly, their energy bills.
“Our quality homes are designed to be sustainable and affordable – giving more Victorians the opportunity to live where they want too,” Ms Forrest said.
“Buyers in Stage 1 were impressed by the diverse range of floorplans and quality inclusions each home offered. Homes in Stage 2 have been designed to maximize energy efficiency through a range of sustainable inclusions as standard, creating comfortable environments for everyone to enjoy.”
“We are delighted to release the next stage of this import project, building on the success of the previous stage.”
Development Victoria is working with Sienna Homes to deliver the range of sustainable and affordable townhouses at Olio.
Sienna Homes Director Vaughan Mcdonald said “this is an exciting opportunity to partner with Development Victoria and deliver another prominent project in Victoria.”
“We are pleased to be able to deliver innovative, sustainable and affordable housing options that provide a real opportunity for first-time buyers and moderate-income earners to enter the market.”
“These townhouses will be all electric, providing households with further savings on their home energy bills. “
“We have worked collaboratively with Development Victoria to create a neighborhood that is harmonious in its design and that links with the natural landscape,” Mr Mcdonald said.
