New homes are on the way in Morwell, with an early release sales campaign kicking off for the future residential community, known as Olearia.
The project will deliver 72 residential lots, including 10% affordable and social homes, across a 4.4-hectare site at 10 English Street, transforming it into a vibrant new residential community, with a mix of social, affordable and private housing close to jobs, services, transport and community facilities.
Executive General Manager of Housing at Development Victoria, Matthew Dean, said the project would help deliver more homes for Victorians.
This project will provide much-needed homes to Gippsland, giving people an opportunity to build their dream home.
The name Olearia reflects the strong connection between this new community and its local environment. Just like the native plant, Olearia will bring new life and growth to Morwell, providing homes, opportunities, and a thriving neighbourhood for years to come.
The development will connect with the broader Latrobe Valley, supporting local business and community growth while contributing to a more diverse housing market in Gippsland.
Development Victoria is working closely with Latrobe City Council and other key partners to ensure the project reflects the needs of the local community and contributes to broader regional development.
