The level of interest and quality of submissions reflect the significance of these redevelopments, not just for Bendigo but for the broader region. We look forward to receiving proposals from our shortlisted bidders as we move towards construction later this year.

Bendigo Stadium’s redevelopment will deliver a new two-court annex, upgrades to existing courts 9 and 10, a solar installation, improved lighting for outdoor netball courts, and enhanced accessibility and car parking. The Sky Lounge will also receive updates to further enhance its appeal for hosting events and functions.

At the Bendigo Showgrounds, plans include a new multipurpose pavilion, a redeveloped arena, and upgraded entrances and fencing to enhance the venue's reputation as a prime destination for community, cultural, and agricultural events.

The successful bidders are expected to be appointed in mid 2025, with construction anticipated to commence shortly after.

These projects are being delivered by Development Victoria in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria, and have involved close collaboration with the City of Greater Bendigo, Bendigo Stadium Limited, and the Bendigo Agricultural Show Society. This will ensure the Bendigo Stadium and Bendigo Showgrounds upgrades cater to the local community and deliver positive outcomes for the region.
