The much-anticipated Twelve Apostles Visitor Experience Centre is one step closer to reality, with Development Victoria now seeking a head contractor in the next step of bringing this world-class project to life.

Supported by the Federal and Victorian Government’s and the City of Greater Geelong through the Geelong City Deal, the Twelve Apostles Precinct Redevelopment projects will improve how visitors experience the Shipwreck Coast region.

Development Victoria recently conducted a three-month engagement process involving 270 local residents to ensure the community's voice shapes the final project.

The Twelve Apostles Visitor Experience Centre is a collaborative effort to revitalise the city and regional economy while promoting sustainable tourism and local support highlights the importance of creating a Visitor Centre that harmonises with the unique natural environment

The project will also upgrade parking spaces and pedestrian access to improve safety and accessibility.

Input from the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation has been integral, leading to the inclusion of a Welcome Garden celebrating their rich bio-cultural heritage and a garden rooftop lookout offering stunning ocean views.

The tender documents will be released in June 2024 to firms previously shortlisted through an Expression of Interest Process.

For more information, visit the Twelve Apostles Precinct Redevelopment project page.

Local businesses interested in the construction phase can register their interest in the project via the Industry Capability Network (ICN) Gateway portal.
