Victorian Government to retain ownership of Ballarat GovHub

The Government will retain ownership of the Ballarat GovHub, after determining that keeping the GovHub in government ownership provides the best overall outcome for the Victorian community.

Development Victoria ran a two-stage market process for the GovHub, which involved national and international buyers.

Construction of Ballarat GovHub commenced in January 2019 and is on track to be completed by the end of 2020.

The GovHub is creating hundreds of local construction jobs, as well as using local labour and materials wherever possible.

Development Victoria is leading the development of the Ballarat GovHub on behalf of the Victorian Government.

The Government will be the owner and head tenant of the GovHub, which will be home to up to 1,000 workers from government agencies including Regional Development Victoria, Department of Education and Training, Department of Justice and Community Safety, State Revenue Office, VicRoads and Service Victoria.
