Overview
Construction is underway on the Bendigo Stadium upgrades as part of the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program.
The project will deliver a modernised, accessible and sustainable facility to support local sport and attract elite competitions to regional Victoria.
Upgrades include:
- two new indoor courts with amenities and a new entry
- refurbishment of two existing courts
- accessibility and utility upgrades throughout the stadium
- new lighting for outdoor netball courts
- solar panels, back-up generator and energy-efficient systems
- carpark and pedestrian access improvements.
These works will help increase sports participation, create local jobs and support the regional economy.
Delivered by Development Victoria in partnership with Sport and Recreation Victoria, the project is being delivered in collaboration with the Bendigo Stadium Limited and City of Greater Bendigo.
Construction began in 2025 and is expected to be completed in late 2026.

In March 2025, we invited the Bendigo community to attend information sessions, where the project team were available to share the designs and answer questions regarding the plans for Bendigo Stadium.
Community members were invited to provide a written submission on the project via Engage Victoria which was open from Wednesday 6 March until Thursday 3 April. This was the final opportunity to provide feedback on the project.

Upgrades include two new courts, refurbishment of two existing courts, outdoor lighting, accessibility and sustainability improvements, and new car parking and access areas.
The improvements will increase participation in local sport, support major events, and strengthen Bendigo’s role as a regional sporting hub.
Development Victoria is delivering the project on behalf of Sport and Recreation Victoria, in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo.
The project is funded through the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program.

Yes. Most areas will stay open during construction, with some temporary changes to access and parking. Any disruptions will be communicated in advance.
The design includes solar panels, water reuse systems, efficient lighting and ventilation, and native landscaping.
We’re working closely with Bendigo Stadium Limited and the City of Greater Bendigo to coordinate works, minimise disruption and keep nearby residents informed.
The upgraded courts will cater to basketball, netball, volleyball and other indoor sports managed by Bendigo Stadium Limited.
