Morwell Housing

Overview

The Victorian Government is unlocking land at a vacant site in Morwell to help deliver much-needed homes, including approximately 10% - 15% social housing, in the Gippsland region close to jobs, services, and transport.

Plans are progressing to deliver approximately 70 (68) vacant residential lots in Morwell – preparing the site for more homes including social and affordable housing.

Development Victoria will work closely with stakeholders, including Latrobe City Council, to ensure the project meets the needs of the Gippsland community.

Next steps

A Planning Permit application for subdivision of the site is scheduled to be submitted to Latrobe City Council for approval in early 2025.
