Building a community

Jacksons Hill now has more than 3000 people living in tree-lined streets among large areas of parkland, with local schools and shops nearby and improved access to Melbourne via the electrified Sunbury railway line.

Community infrastructure at Jackson’s Hill includes:

  • 42 hectares of public open space

  • Numerous wetlands
  • The ‘Galaxy Land’ adventure playground

Innovation and awards

Jacksons Hill was named the 2008 Best Master Planned Community in Australia by the Property Council of Australia.

Jacksons Hill was also the first development of its kind in Australia in the late 1990s to provide a 22-home solar precinct incorporating 4 Star homes, gas-boosted solar hot water systems and surplus energy back into the grid.

The rehabilitation of Wanginu Park received the Australian Institute of Landscape Architecture Land Management Award in 2013.
