Residents in Melbourne’s north now have safer and better access to surrounding areas and the Hume Freeway with the opening of the Edgars Road extension in Epping.

Traffic is now flowing along the recently opened section of Edgars Road between Rockfield Street and O’Herns Road in Epping.

The Edgars Road project is part of our thriving Aurora residential development in Melbourne’s north, which thousands of people now call home and is serviced by numerous schools, child care and community centres, parks and gardens.

Melbourne-based ACE Contractors delivered the road on behalf of Development Victoria.

Works included a dual carriage way, separated by a median strip and features bike lanes and room for on-street parking.

Landscaping along the road and an associated raingarden, located on the eastern side of Edgars Road, is being carried out by Peco Constructions.

With over 7000 people calling Aurora home, this important north-south link will provide locals and surrounding communities easy access to retail, parks, schools and more.

Connecting Edgars Road will also ensure safe, quick and easy access for residents to the newly completed Hume Freeway Interchange.

Planning is also underway to extend Herlitz Drive and Berrigan Street to further improve connectivity in the area.
