The vision to transform almost three thousand square metres of the concrete concourse at Victoria Point next to Marvel Stadium into a green oasis is complete.
New and expanded native gardens have been built and filled with trees and plants that will create a welcoming green space for residents and visitors to this area of Docklands. There is also improved lighting and seating.
Keeping the environment in mind, the over 2,000 sqm of permeable garden bed surfaces reduce stormwater runoff by redirecting rainwater to dry “creek beds” and then to a storage tank on the lower level.
Development Victoria worked with the Victoria Point Owners’ Corporation to transform the area.
The project was funded with contributions from Development Victoria, the City of Melbourne’s Urban Forest Fund grants program and Victoria Point Owners’ Corporation.
