Development Victoria is delivering on its promise to deliver much-needed housing to Melbourne’s northern suburbs with construction of 89 new townhouses in Wollert to commence early next year.

Homes at Habitas Aurora are at a range of different price points to suit Victorian home buyers and will feature a range of sustainability and liveability features.

Aurora is a well-established, master planned community located 25kms from Melbourne over the established suburbs of Epping and Wollert.

Since 2005, Development Victoria has delivered approximately 2,000 affordable and diverse housing opportunities at Aurora – all located within walking distance to the Aurora Town Centre, schools, open space and public transport.

Habitas Aurora is the latest residential offering at the site, with home construction set to commence in early 2024 following the completion of all in-ground services, roads and footpaths this month.

Development Victoria has partnered with two of Victoria’s leading residential builders, SOHO Living and Metricon TownLiving, to deliver the homes, which are a mix of two, three and four-bedroom townhouses to cater to a variety of households and budgets.

The development will also lead the way in sustainability, with a range of initiatives to be incorporated into homes such as recycled water, solar hot water, LED lighting, and minimum 6-star rating with passive solar design.

Development Victoria’s Group Head of Housing Penny Forrest said: “We are committed to increasing housing supply and affordability in areas that need it most.

The completion of civil works and start of home construction marks an important milestone for this residential project, which will boost housing supply and affordability in Melbourne’s fast-growing north, close to shops, schools, transport and open spaces.

In addition to the new homes, Habitas Aurora will feature quality streetscapes and extensive recreational amenity promoting healthy lifestyles, while also enhancing the ecological value of an adjoining protected conservation reserve.
